We Have a Floor!

The wonderful people of Slead Construction and SKE (firms doing our site development and concrete work) started at 4 am this morning pouring our slab. I visited the site at 10 am and the slab was complete. Now they focus on building the wall panels, a fascinating process where they fabricate the walls on top of the slab. These concrete and steel panels are very heavy. Once these are all done they bring in an 85 ton crane and tilt up all the panels, and just like that we have walls. The wall raising is scheduled right now to happen on May 17. You will find me out at the site on the 17th helping with the heavy lifting. (I don't understand why they won't let me drive the crane ;-)) Hmm, seems like we should have a wall raising party or something!
