The Final Week

Hi Everyone!

Well we have reached the final week of a 2 year effort to bring Sound Harley-Davidson from a vision into a reality. Our team is ready and we are all working amazing hours putting the finishing touches on everything. We have a lot to do this week so keep your fingers crossed that everything goes as planned. We have our final inspection to secure our "Certificate of Occupancy" on Tuesday, an important milestone for being able to open. We think we are ready and don't expect any issues but you never know. With that said, the City of Marysville has been wonderful to work with so we are thinking positive thoughts.

Our water tower legs are in place after about three days of effort to just get them lifted and secured correctly on the building. Our Water Tank is scheduled to go up on the 30th (Wed) so keep an eye out. Hopefully if you pass by the building on your way home from work Wed afternoon you will see our crown jewel! Our shiny new state of the art service department is also about done. We tested our Dyno Room on Friday and the exhaust ventilation fans on that thing could power a Boeing 767. If we're ever looking for one of our Techs, we will first look at the air intake screen on the Dyno as he/she will probably be stuck to it. :-)

Our biggest risk right now to our opening on Sept 2nd, is getting our final telephone lines installed by Verizon. If anyone has any connections with them and can help us accelerate this process we would love to hear from you as it is taking for ever to get them to complete our installation. Luckily we have some temporary lines but we can't open with them.


After our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony next Saturday (9 a.m., 9/2/06) with Marysville Mayor, Dennis Kendall we will be having an "All-American" send off of two local fire fighters who will head to New York to mark the 5th anniversary of 9/11.

Sound Harley-Davidson, Marysville Fire District, family and friends will send off Don Turner and Jeff Story from East Side Fire & Rescue in All-American style at 10 a.m. sharp. As these men leave to embark on a 7,000 mile roundtrip journey, Sound Harley-Davidson will prepare them for the ride with rain gear, new gloves, a couple of t-shirts, and maps to use on their trip. Don and Jeff will ride to Chicago where they will meet up with 2,000 more fire fighters for the “2006 Chicago to New York 9-11 Memorial Ride.” They will leave Sox Park US Cellular Field, ride to Pennsylvania to visit the memorial of Flight 93 and then continue on to Ground Zero. Their trip will be documented on www.soundharley.com, and updated on a daily basis. These hard core riders will return home on or near Wednesday, September 20th, 2006.
